What am I missing?

I started Elder Nelson’s challenge to study basically everything Christ said in the standard works :)

The first verses I read were:

“And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

“I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.” (John 6:35, 51)

There are so many things in life I hunger and thirst for…

Usually some form of temporary happiness, cheap thrills, or stimulating entertainment. Those things are attempts to quench my urges, but most often they leave me hungrier and thirstier than before.

I’m the end, the only substantial thing I’m ever missing is Christ.

If I truly want to find satisfaction, it’s through Christ :) Not even Tucanos grilled pineapple, nor intimacy with an eternal companion, nor a perfect spring day can help me never hunger or thirst again. Good things can help me find Christ, but only He can help me live forever.

So, what am I missing? What am I ever really missing?

Christ.

And what things am I trying (failing) to fill that need through…? Probably the habits and hobbies I need to change.
