Walk in Christ’s light

The last few weeks have felt like a blur…

With ups and downs in mine and the lives of people around me… increased work load, health difficulties, relationship struggles, and loved one’s passing away. On top of that, recent natural and man-made disasters seem never-ending.

This all makes me think of Paul’s prophecy “that in the last days perilous times shall come” (2 Timothy 3:1) or what the Doctrine and Covenants describe as the time “when peace shall be taken from the earth” (D&C 1:35).

Fortunately, we don’t have to search for peace from the earth in perilous times…

Rather we can find it in Christ! He promised:

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27)

I think we can receive his peace when we do as President Uchtdorf invited to:

“Even when night has fallen and the world seems dark, we can choose to walk in Christ’s light…”

I need Christ’s peace and light! Even though external (and sometimes internal) circumstances don’t change, I can still choose to turn to him, and that’s what I’m trying to do :)

p.s. I turned 30 since my last post! Here are some people I got to celebrate with :)

  1. Zach, Great post! I sometimes wonder if I’m doing or have done what God has asked me to, and this is the 3rd Blog I’ve read by another Christian blogger confirming that what I taught at church last Wednesday was what God intended. My title was: Are You Prepared? and my reference scripture none other than 2 Timothy 3:1.

By the way … a BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU (my granddaughter’s was on the 5th!)
