My strength is made perfect in weakness

Some of my HWN this week was pondering on the idea this week that God’s strength is made perfect in weakness. Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 about a “thorn in the flesh,” or weakness he had. He asked God three times to remove it from him, but Heavenly Father responded:

“My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” (1 Corinthians 12:9)

Somehow, our weakness allows Heavenly Father’s strength to be perfected. I think Heavenly Father’s strength is largely reflected in His love for us. And the fact that He loves our imperfection perfectly, allows His love to be perfect. So, He needs us, and our imperfection for Him to be perfect… because without us, he wouldn’t have something to love perfectly. And His perfect love is so strong that it helps us grow and become like Him. So really, our weakness enables God’s perfection :)

p.s. I hiked Mt. Timpanogos to the summit for the first time on Monday :) I went with my brother Danny and his fiancé Sarah. The whole trip took us 9 hours!

On top of the world

Here’s one of my favorite views from the hike:
