I will give you rest

Wednesday this week was one of the most stressful days of my working career! I had 8.5 out of 9.5 hours scheduled with clients, had several phone calls and emails to answer, had to prepare to teach a skills class, had reached the deadline to complete 2017 yearly goals, had to prepare for a clarification appointment on Thursday (these only happen a few times a year for me, and can be stressful), and found out that a Powerpoint I had prepared for presentation wasn’t going to be approved in time… a stressful middle of the week for sure!

My HWN this week was the fact that I found peace and had fun in spite of this :) I felt my prayers answered and Christ’s promise regarding his rest fulfilled:

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)

Here were the highlights that helped me feel that rest! On Monday (happy Pioneer Day!) McKay and I hiked Horsetail Falls:

I also fixed my toiled — installed a new lever and replaced a flush valve gasket. I felt pretty manly afterwards!

Tuesday night I took Carlie on a double date with Heston and Whitney. We enjoyed a picnic and feeding the ducks at the Utah State Hospital pond :) Coincidentally, we wore matching outfits! The lighting on the group shot didn’t turned out super great…

Thursday my coworkers had the idea to surprise our supervisor. We did some yard work while she was away on vacation :) #secretservice

Friday I had a checkup appointment at both the doctor and the dentist, so I stayed home from work, but I also got to go to the temple and help my friends Mike and Suzette move :)

Yesterday I went with McKay to the Payson Temple in the morning

…and tried out Bowl of Heaven with my sister Emily for the first time in the afternoon :)

I also had several tender mercies — spiritual insights and promptings from Heavenly Father that help me know He’s aware of me :)
